Hello there! My name is Channing Eggers, and I am primarily a Gameplay & AI/NPC-Gameplay Programmer. I occasionally like to work on some engine or tools related topics in my personal projects as a generalist. Currently, I am based in The Netherlands.
I have always liked playing games from a young age. I started with the Nintendo 64, played a bunch of DS & Wii games, and now mostly PC & Switch. Clearly I was really invested in playing games, but what also piqued my interest was the making of those games.
My game development journey started with me creating small levels in ‘UDK’ (Unreal Engine 3) and toying around with its ‘Kismet/Proto-Blueprinting’ system. After that, I made my first couple of games - albeit simple - in ‘GameMaker’ using its proprietary programming language.
Eventually, I realized that I wanted to be a game developer on the programming side, so I self-taught myself C++ to further develop myself, and eventually applied at a game development school.
I enrolled at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) where I studied the Creative Media & Game Technology bachelor programme. (This was formerly known as NHTV IGAD.)
At BUAS, I worked on many multidisciplinary game projects and engines, and in the final year, I graduated after having done my internship at Massive Entertainment - A Ubisoft Studio. There I worked within the NPC Gameplay team on the ‘The Division 2’ project.
Currently, I am looking for new opportunities in the gaming industry.
